The city ledger / Reference
Combat & contracts
Weapon choices, actual damage, contract unlocks and first-clear rewards.
Choose an equipped attack weapon. Each tap resolves your attack and the opponent’s automatic response. A finishing blow prevents the response. Precision against their Agility influences hit chance; Strength improves damage with diminishing returns. Agility helps you evade. Armour absorbs landed damage. Both fighters may miss or hit torso, arm, leg or, less often, head.
Your selected weapon supplies its weapon power and attack trait. Other equipped attack weapons add no passive power. Passive gear contributes power whichever weapon you select. A knife offers a lighter attack and guarded recovery when you use it; a buckler protects return hits regardless of selected weapon. Compare both power and defence rather than treating every higher-power item as an upgrade.
Contract entry costs 10 Energy once and requires at least 12 health and an equipped attack weapon. Full health and prepared equipment are recommended. Combat is turn based; rapid repeated taps do not create extra turns. Read actual health loss after each attack and open Details & log for the saved history.

First-clear gear and cloth are awarded once. Repeat victories retain the listed stat and mastery gains, up to the stat limit. Repeat Salt Bridge or Bell-Ringer victories have a 10% Signal ring chance only while its permanent claim remains unused; crafting the ring consumes that same claim. Selling it does not renew the claim.
Withdrawal and defeat
At zero health or the 16-turn contract limit, the contract ends without reward. Withdrawal also leaves entry Energy spent. Trained stats and equipment remain. Recover before trying again. Leave fight screen preserves the active fight; it is different from Withdraw.
